Transfer Pricing Training, Designed Around Your Team
No two transfer pricing teams are the same, so no two of our training programmes are either. We work with firms and multinationals to design bespoke TP training that fits your people, your clients and your business.
Trusted TP Training
The problem we solve
Junior transfer pricing professionals are often expected to contribute to complex client work from day one. Training them usually falls to client-facing colleagues, who design and deliver sessions around a full workload, so the fundamentals are covered as time allows rather than as a structured programme. The result is a team learning by doing, which creates risk for the firm and means confidence builds slowly.
Transfer pricing is also poorly served by general tax training, so most of what juniors learn comes from colleagues a year or two ahead of them, task by task. They learn what to do without always understanding why. A trainee can assist with a benchmarking study without seeing where it fits in the wider TP framework. Gaining that big picture understanding turns someone who can follow instructions into someone who asks the right questions.
We design and deliver that training for you. Your team gains the grounding and the context from experienced practitioners, while your senior people stay focused on clients.

How we work with you
We don't arrive with a fixed syllabus. Every engagement starts with a conversation about your team and your business, and the programme is designed from there.
Understand
We start by listening:
- the make-up of your team, their experience levels, the nature of your client work or intra-group arrangements,
- where you want the team to be in the years ahead, and
- how you want to help them get there.
Design
A programme built around those needs, covering the right topics at the right depth. That might be a short series of workshops, a full programme of modules, preparation for a professional qualification, or a combination over several years.
Deliver
Online, in person or a combination, scheduled around your client commitments. Sessions are interactive and exercise-led, in small groups, using scenarios your team will recognise from their own work.
Refine
Your feedback shapes the programme as it runs, letting us adjust content, pace and emphasis year on year. The programme your team gets in year three has been sharpened by everyone who came before them.
What a bespoke programme can look like
Every programme is different, but two examples show the range, and how they can combine over several years. We built this combination with a Big 4 transfer pricing team in Ireland, where new graduates begin with practical fundamentals and progress to the ADIT qualification in their second year.
Example 1: A practical foundation for junior TP professionals
For one firm's incoming TP associates, we designed a five-module Fundamentals of Transfer Pricing programme, an exercise-led grounding in the concepts and techniques that underpin all TP work. Across the modules, participants:
Example 2: A bespoke ADIT Transfer Pricing course for your cohort
Your programme might look like one of these, combine elements of both, or be something different again: a workshop series on a single topic, refresher training for experienced staff, or TP awareness sessions for the wider tax or finance team. The starting point is always a conversation about what your team needs.

Frequently asked questions
Is this a fixed course or is it tailored to our firm?
Every programme is tailored. We start by understanding your team's experience, your client base or intra-group arrangements, and your goals, then design the topics, depth, format and schedule around them. The examples on this page show what other firms have commissioned.
Who can the training be designed for?
Anyone from new graduates joining a TP team through to experienced practitioners deepening a specialism. We also design TP awareness sessions for the wider tax, finance or legal teams who work alongside them. The content is pitched to the participants in the room.
Can the training be delivered online, in person, or both?
Yes. Programmes can run fully online, fully in person, or combine the two, for instance in-person workshops with online sessions between them. Scheduling works around your team's client commitments and time zone.
Can participants from different offices or countries join one cohort?
Yes. Transfer pricing training built on the OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines works well for cohorts drawn from multiple offices, member firms or countries, and we regularly schedule around different time zones.
What results have your transfer pricing courses achieved?
Students on our public ADIT Transfer Pricing course achieved a 100% pass rate in four out of the past five exam sittings. The bespoke programme for a Big 4 TP team in Ireland has delivered 100% pass rates for students who fully completed the course over three consecutive years.
Do you offer advanced transfer pricing training for experienced teams?
Yes. ExtraTax Training designs advanced transfer pricing training for experienced TP professionals, covering topics where external courses are rarely available, such as intangibles, financial transactions, and MAP and APA processes. We diagnose what your team needs, then deliver the training through our network of associate trainers, including practitioners with niche specialisms and former senior tax authority officials.
How do we get started?
Contact us to arrange a call. We'll listen to what you're trying to build, ask about your team, and come back with a proposed programme designed around your needs, whether that's a single workshop series or a programme to develop your people over several years.
