Transfer Pricing Training, Designed Around Your Team

No two transfer pricing teams are the same, so no two of our training programmes are either. We work with firms and multinationals to design bespoke TP training that fits your people, your clients and your business.

Trusted TP Training

ExtraTax Training delivers bespoke transfer pricing training to professional services firms, multinational groups and tax authorities. Our TP students have come from Big 4 and leading advisory firms, in-house tax teams at FTSE 100 and Fortune 500 multinationals, and revenue authorities.

The problem we solve

Junior transfer pricing professionals are often expected to contribute to complex client work from day one, but formal training in the fundamentals is rarely part of the picture. The result is a team that learns by doing, creating risk for the firm and slowing the development of real technical confidence.

Meanwhile, partners and directors don't have the capacity to design and deliver structured training while maintaining client service. And off-the-shelf CPD courses don't reflect the work your team actually does.

That's the gap we fill: training designed for your team, delivered by experienced practitioners, so your senior people can stay focused on clients.

How we work with you

We don't arrive with a fixed syllabus. Every engagement starts with a conversation about your team and your business, and the programme is designed from there.

Understand

We start by listening:
  • the make-up of your team, their experience levels, the nature of your client work or intra-group arrangements,
  • where you want the team to be in one, two or three years, and
  • how you want to help them get there.

Design

We propose a programme built around those needs — the right topics, the right depth, the right format. That might be a short series of practical workshops, a structured multi-module programme, exam preparation for a professional qualification, or a combination over several years.

Deliver

Training is delivered online, in person or hybrid, scheduled around your business calendar and client commitments. Sessions are interactive and exercise-led, in small groups, using scenarios your team will recognise from their own work.

Refine

We gather feedback from participants and leadership as we go, and adjust content, pace and emphasis so the programme keeps meeting your needs as they evolve.

What a bespoke programme can look like

Every programme is different, but two examples show the range, and how they can combine into a multi-year development pathway. We currently use this pathway with a Big 4 transfer pricing team in Ireland, where new graduates begin with practical fundamentals and progress to the ADIT qualification in their second year.

Example 1: A practical foundation for junior TP professionals

For one firm's incoming TP associates, we designed a five-module Fundamentals of Transfer Pricing programme — a structured, exercise-led grounding in the concepts and techniques that underpin all TP work. Across the modules, participants:
  • Explore how multinational groups are structured, value chain analysis, the arm's length principle and the OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines, through practical exercises using everyday products.
  • Learn to analyse a transaction end-to-end, from comparability and functional analysis through entity characterisation to method selection, with numerical examples of all five OECD methods.
  • Apply it all in an integrated case study, alongside the international tax concepts that give cross-border TP work its context.
  • Work in depth on intra-group services, including building a model to calculate allocations for a shared services entity.
  • Learn the purpose and structure of TP documentation by starting to prepare a local file.

Each module is an interactive workshop with groups capped at 12. The content, examples and emphasis are tailored to the team's background and the work they are doing. Meaning a programme for your team would cover the ground your team needs, in the order and depth that suits them.

Example 2: A bespoke ADIT Transfer Pricing course for your cohort

For teams ready to formalise their expertise, we design dedicated courses preparing a cohort for the ADIT Transfer Pricing exam, awarded by the UK's Chartered Institute of Taxation. Because the syllabus is built on the OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines rather than any single jurisdiction's rules, it works equally well for cohorts drawn from one office or from member firms across several countries.

A bespoke ADIT course is scheduled around your team's working hours and time zone, can incorporate firm-relevant examples, and gives colleagues the mutual support of studying together. It includes regular small-group classes,  assignments with individual feedback, comprehensive study materials, revision days, and pre- and post-revision mock exams.

Firms that would like to experience our approach before committing to a dedicated cohort can also sponsor a small number of candidates on our public online ADIT TP course.

These are examples, not a menu. Your programme might look like one of these, combine elements of both, or be something different again. For example, a topic-specific workshop series, refresher training for experienced staff, or TP awareness sessions for the wider tax or finance team. The starting point is always your needs, not our template.

Proven results

Case study: a multi-year TP development pathway in Ireland. We work with a Big 4 transfer pricing team in Ireland, delivering a dedicated cohort for three consecutive years. The programme was designed with the firm around its graduate intake: new joiners begin with a tailored Fundamentals of Transfer Pricing course, then progress to a bespoke ADIT Transfer Pricing programme in their second year. By designing exactly what the team needs and listening to feedback year on year, we have helped them achieve 100% ADIT pass rates — while their senior professionals stay focused on client-facing work.

I have been on a lot of courses but have never received the level of support I did from ExtraTax Training. I would recommend the course to anyone who wants to work in Transfer Pricing.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a fixed course or is it tailored to our firm?

Every programme is tailored. We start by understanding your team's experience, your client base or intra-group arrangements, and your goals. Then design the topics, depth, format and schedule around them. The examples on this page show what other firms have commissioned, not a fixed menu.

Who can the training be designed for?

Anyone from new graduates joining a TP team through to experienced practitioners deepening a specialism — and TP awareness sessions for wider tax, finance or legal teams. The content is pitched to the participants in the room.

Can the training be delivered online, in person, or both?

All three. We deliver fully online, fully in-person, or hybrid programmes, scheduled around your team's client commitments and time zone.

Can participants from different offices or countries join one cohort?

Yes. Transfer pricing training built on the OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines works well for cohorts drawn from multiple offices, member firms or countries, and we regularly schedule around different time zones.

What results have your transfer pricing courses achieved?

Our ADIT Transfer Pricing students achieved a 100% pass rate in four out of the past five exam sittings. Our bespoke programme for a Big 4 TP team in Ireland has delivered 100% pass rates for students who fully completed the course over three consecutive years.
